MTU 595 PARTS

HOME / MTU PARTS

MTU 595 series medium-speed diesel engines, developed by MTU Friedrichshafen (now part of Rolls-Royce Power Systems), were launched in 1990. Designed for marine propulsion, industrial drives, and power generation, the series features modular design, high reliability, and low emissions. With a power range of 1,980–4,320kW, it represents the pinnacle of diesel engine technology in the late 20th century, marking MTU’s first fully independent R&D project.

Applications
Marine Propulsion
・ Military: The U.S. Navy X-Craft catamaran uses two 16V 595 TE90 engines in CODOG configuration with gas turbines, achieving speeds exceeding 50 knots.
・ Commercial: The German ferry Deutschland replaced its original 956-series engine with a 12V 595 TE50, boosting power by 14% and reducing fuel consumption by 8%.
Industrial & Power Generation
・ The 16V 595 TE70L powers oilfield drilling rigs, delivering 3,925kW even at -30°C.
・ In power plants, it combines with MTU 4000 series engines to provide redundant power for data centers and critical infrastructure.
Extreme Environments
The 16V 595 TE80, tested at -40°C, equips Arctic icebreakers with full-power reverse capability, ensuring reliable operation in harsh conditions.
